Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca reveals Liverpool 'vulnerability' ahead of Premier League clash

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca believes he's identified a weakness in Liverpool that's emerged from their dominant Premier League title triumph last term. Saturday's Stamford Bridge visitors clinched the Premier League crown with a commanding ten-point cushion and had the championship wrapped up remarkably early.

This campaign saw them kick off with five consecutive top-flight triumphs. Whilst some displays weren't exactly vintage, their results remained noteworthy. Yet Arne Slot's squad have encountered obstacles recently following a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace and a 1-0 setback at Galatasaray in the Champions League .

Should the Blues secure victory, it would mark Liverpool's third successive loss to conclude this current run of matches ahead of the October international break.

Previewing this weekend's encounter, Maresca informed journalists that weaknesses exist within this Liverpool outfit currently. "There is a vulnerability about any team in the world , not just Liverpool," he revealed.

"But if a team wins every games, it is impossible to catch them. Now they lost one or two games that shows vulnerability.

"This is something for every team in the world. You can drop points against any team in the Premier League."

Despite Liverpool's recent struggles under Slot , Maresca remains adamant that it doesn't diminish their impressive start to the season, especially considering the tragic loss of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva. "I don't think now it is better to play Liverpool," he added.

"It is always a tough game, always a big team. The way they are doing this season is in any case, fantastic, especially after the Jota tragedy.

"I lived the exact same when I was a player 20 years ago, it is not easy for the players or manager. You have to be very strong.

"This is the reason why for me they are doing, not good, but better than good because dealing with a problem like this is not easy."

If Chelsea triumph this weekend, they would close the gap to just four points behind the league leaders.
