A new revelation has emerged in Chelsea's previous breaches after the Football Association levelled 74 charges to the club.

The charges are primarily focused on transfers between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons , dating back to Roman Abramovich's reign and before the takeover from the BlueCo consortium.

It's understood that they are related to alleged rule breaches concerning agents, intermediaries and third party investment. Part of the investigation includes the moves that brought Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o and Willian to Stamford Bridge.

A statement from the FA read : "The Football Association has today charged Chelsea FC with breaches of Regulations J1 and C2 of The FA Football Agents Regulations, Regulations A2 and A3 of The FA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries, and Regulations A1 and B3 of The FA Third Party Investment in Players Regulations. In total, 74 charges have been brought against Chelsea FC.

"The conduct that is the subject of the charges ranges from 2009 to 2022 and primarily relates to events which occurred between the 2010/11 to 2015/16 playing seasons. Chelsea FC has until 19 September 2025 to respond."

Now, in the short aftermath of the charges, The Times has reported that agents within the football industry are growing nervous about facing disciplinary action or having their names disclosed.

The report claims that if licensed agents are deemed to have received off-the-book payments, they could face being punished alongside Chelsea. It's also suggested that the so-called 'middle-men' used, who received payments, could also be named.

"There is a lot of talk among agents about what will happen next and whether people involved in the deals will be named or charged," one agent told The Times. "These payments around transfers are very common in other countries so it is probably no surprise that it has happened in the Premier League too."
