Carabao Cup clash stopped after freak injury as fans moan 'you're joking'
WIGAN ATHLETIC's Carabao Cup match against Wycombe Wanderers saw a bizarre break in play after a linesman pulled up injured.
The tie at the DW Stadium in Wigan was disrupted just seven minutes in when the official pulled up injured on the sideline.

The injury delay lasted six minutes before play got underway again in the contest, which was goalless up to that point.
Fans could not believe their luck as the game ground to a halt, with one saying on X: "You're joking me!"
But the majority of reaction was less about the bizarre situation, and more about how much it resembled a previous incident that occurred between the two clubs.
A referee was also forced to be replaced in a League One fixture between the sides last year, at the same venue, on the same day of the week.
Ref Adam Herczeg was sandwiched by two players and sustained a head injury during their clash at the DW in January 2024.
He was forced to be withdrawn in that match, with a fan taking over as fourth official.
One Wycombe fan commented: "An injured official at Wigan away on a tuesday night again..."
Another supporter added: "I’ve seen this before."
A Wigan fan joked: "We aren't going to have any more fixtures against Wycombe, all the officials are going to refuse."
Wycombe broke the deadlock after the game was restarted, with Caolan Boyd-Munce curling in brilliantly from the edge of the box in the 32nd minute to hand his side the lead.
