BREAKING Woman charged after ex-Bournemouth star loses leg in motorway crash

A woman has been charged after a former Bournemouth football player lost his leg in a horrific crash on the motorway. Jordan Chiedozie, a former Cherries star and ex-Southend United ace, was struck by a car on the hard shoulder of the M27.

He had pulled over to tend to a flat tyre when he was struck by a passing car. Ann Bogusiewicz, 45, has since been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving.

On December 1, she will appear at Southampton Crown Court. The incident took place on February 1, when he was travelling with Reighan Taylor, a physio.

Chiedozie was a player for Hampshire side Bashley FC and had played a match earlier. He had pulled over between junction two and three on the eastbound carriageway to look at his car tyre.

As a result of the crash, he was left with “multiple broken bones and other physical injuries”. Tragically, he was also put into an induced coma following the crash and also had to have his leg amputated.

Chiedozie, who is also the son of former Tottenham Hotspur player John Chiedozie, recently spoke out about the life-changing crash. He said: "I think you just have to [stay positive], you just have to get on with it.

"If you stay too much thinking of what happened and the past, I don’t think it helps with the recovery and being able to get as close as to normal as before, going forward.”
