🚨 BREAKING: Rangers and Celtic cancel each other in bore draw at Ibrox

Rangers and Celtic played out a dreary 0-0 draw at Ibrox as Russell Martin's wait for a Scottish Premiership win dragged on.

With both sides reeling from their midweek Champions League exits, and Martin under huge pressure following the 6-0 humbling by Club Brugge, perhaps it was not a surprise the first half was a slow burner with next to no chances.

The closest we came to a goal was in the 32nd minute when John Souattar headed in James Tavernier. Rangers' joy was short-lived though, as a quick check ruled the centre-half offside, with Celtic's defensive line holding strong.

After the break, it was more of the same with a lack of quality up front and solid defending being the order of the day.

The hosts relied almost entirely on set pieces, but failed to register a single shot on target. Celtic's attacking efforts were not much better, with Reo Hatate's tame strike at Jack Butland being the bulk of them.

A draw was a fair result with neither side doing enough to win. Celtic go top ahead of Hearts on goal difference, and have yet to concede a goal. On the other hand, Rangers are sat in sixth, having drawn all of their four opening games.
