Ben Jacobs shuts down rumoured Man United move for Angelo Stiller

Manchester United were linked with a move for VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller earlier on Sunday.

Reports claimed that a delegation from Old Trafford had already travelled to Germany to ramp up negotiations, but Ben Jacobs has come out to shut down those rumours.

Stiller has been on United’s radar for some time now, but Jacobs claims the club have only held internal discussions about the German midfielder.

The Red Devils are not in active talks to sign the 24-year-old, and it’s unlikely that they’ll act on their interest before the transfer deadline.

Stiller has drawn attention from United and Real Madrid after enjoying a breakthrough campaign in the Bundesliga last season.

He scored four times and weighed in with 11 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Stiller has three years remaining on his contract with Stuttgart, so they’re under no pressure to cash in on the midfielder this summer.

He has established himself as a key player for Stuttgart since joining from Hoffenheim, racking up five goals and 18 assists in 85 games across all competitions.

Rebuilding the midfield has been a priority for United this summer, but they’re yet to make any significant progress to get it done.

They were linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba but were priced out of a move, with the Seagulls demanding more than £100 million.

With only a few hours left until the transfer deadline, United have decided to pursue other targets.

Signing a goalkeeper is also a priority for the Red Devils, with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir failing to prove that they can be reliable between the sticks.

So far, United are working on a deal to sign Royal Antwerp keeper Senne Lammens.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper is considered one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Europe, having kept 10 clean sheets in 44 games last term.

Reports claim that United are ready to spend around £17m to sign Lammens, although Premier League rivals .
