Bellingham makes Champions League history with 50th appearance

Jude Bellingham set a new record during Real Madrid ’s defeat to Liverpool at Anfield , becoming the youngest player ever to reach 50 appearances in the Champions League .

At just 22 years and 4 months old, Bellingham surpassed former Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas , who previously held the record after reaching the milestone at 22 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

The top five also includes two more Real Madrid players - Kylian Mbappé (22 years and 11 months) and Rodrygo (23 years and 3 months) - along with one notable ‘outsider’, Cesc Fàbregas , who achieved 50 Champions League appearances at 22 years and 10 months while playing for Arsenal and Barcelona .

Bellingham made his Champions League debut in 2020 for Borussia Dortmund in a match against Lazio, going on to make 23 appearances for the German side. Now with Los Blancos , he won the competition in 2024 - against his former club.

Already recognised as the Champions League’s Best Young Player and named in the Team of the Season, Bellingham has been directly involved in 27 goals across his 50 appearances - scoring 14 and providing 13 assists.
