Arsenal are top of the table as the Premier League returns this weekend and Mikel Arteta will be hoping for more of the same from his side. An unbeaten run stretching back to the beginning of September has fans excited for the upcoming trip to Fulham on Saturday night.

Arteta has watched his players shine on the international stage in October.

However, he will be hoping they've saved their best for domestic football as Craven Cottage awaits.

Here, Mirror Football has all you need to know on the latest news coming out of the Emirates Stadium this week.

Zinedine Zidane hailed the quality of Arsenal target Kenan Yildiz as he continues to shine for Juventus . The Gunners are longtime admirers of the attacker and recently sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old in action against AC Milan.

While city rivals Chelsea tabled a bid of £61million for the Turkish star in the summer - which was knocked back - Arteta could have him on his January transfer wishlist.

Zidane told Fanatik that he is excited to watch the youngster build on some good performances for Juve in the future.

The ex-Real Madrid star said: "I like him, he is a good player. He scores goals. He has quality. He still needs to improve and prove himself.

"Juventus are doing well with Tudor, he is slowly improving. I am happy for him and for Juventus."

Joleon Lescott is adamant that Viktor Gyokeres lacks the qualities needed to propel Arsenal to the Premier League title. The striker, who signed from Sporting CP in the summer, has three goals in 10 appearances for the Gunners so far and has failed to impress the ex-Manchester City defender.

Lescott told Sky Bet that the Swedish striker is just "okay" and won't be enough to help Arsenal to their long-awaited title. He said: "I would describe Victor Gyokeres as 'okay'.

"If you’re going to win the league, your striker can’t be okay, he has to be top. I don’t think Mikel Arteta can get Arsenal over the line in the Premier League ."

The 43-year-old did claim that the north London side could get the job done in Europe, adding: "But in the Champions League , it’s different.

"With the way he rotates and because of that big gap [before the knockout stages], no one knows what kind of form or fitness teams will be in.

"That suits Arsenal better than having to be consistently good every single week to win the league."

Cristhian Mosquera is a firm believer in Gyokeres' abilities , snubbing Lescott's claims that the striker isn't what Arsenal need up front. The Spanish centre-back waxed lyrical about the Swede's prowess in training and claimed he is helping the Gunners backline improve with each session.

In a recent interview with Spanish newspaper Diario AS , Mosquera said: "He's a beast, an animal. Training with him helps defenders improve. There were great players at Valencia, but training with such top-level players is a huge leap."

Mosquera has been a solid stand-in for the injured William Saliba with two clean sheets and three wins in four Premier League appearances. The Gunners have just one loss all season - coming against reigning champions Liverpool - and look to be in good health as the domestic season restarts on Saturday.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
