Arne Slot confirmed Liverpool have no new injury issues ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal this weekend.
The Reds welcome Mikel Arteta's side to Anfield on Sunday, with the game giving both sides the chance to lay down an early title race marker. Speaking on Friday morning ahead of the match, Slot confirmed Conor Bradley and Alexis Mac Allister have trained this week in what is a double fitness boost for the Reds.
Mac Allister was absent from the matchday squad for Monday night's 3-2 win over Newcastle United, while Bradley did come off the bench despite only being involved in a couple of training sessions. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is also fit, Slot confirmed, after being on the receiving end of a tackle that resulted in Anthony Gordon being sent off on Tyneside.
"No, I don’t think so," Slot told reporters when asked if his side had any new fitness concerns. "I think the positive is that Conor Bradley only had one or two training sessions before the Newcastle game, he has trained this week the whole week – [well] not the whole week as there are still two days to go.
"Mac Allister has also started training again so I don't think we had any injuries coming out of that game [at Newcastle], no. And Virgil is also OK."
Jeremie Frimpong has been ruled out of the game, however, after picking up an injury in the opening fixture of the season against Bournemouth. Dominik Szoboszlai filled in at right-back against Newcastle and could do the same against the Gunners, although Bradley could now be fit to start.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have a number of injury concerns going into the clash on Merseyside. Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard were forced off against Leeds United last Saturday, with Saka expected to be out for three to four weeks with a hamstring issue. Odegaard is a doubt for the game against Liverpool after injuring his shoulder but has not yet been ruled out.
Kai Havertz underwent minor knee surgery this week so is set for a spell on the sidelines, while Ben White and Leandro Trossard have not been pictured in training this week. Gabriel Jesus is expected to return later this year as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury. Christian Norgaard has also yet to feature this season but could return at Liverpool, with Arteta expected to provide an update on Friday afternoon.
